Barry Cheong is a practising lawyer and registered civil engineer in Macau.
Barry obtained JD from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, LLB from the University of Macau, and Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BS Civil) from the University of California, Berkeley.
Before joining the legal profession, Barry had been working in the construction engineering and construction contracts field for more than 10 years. He worked for muilti-international consultants, multi-international construction contractors and multi-international project developer such as the Accenture and the Bechtel Group in the US, Macau airport and Sands Resort in Macau, and Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.
Since leaving the post as a corporate legal advisor in 2008, Barry now provides a broad spectrum of legal services to major corporate clients, and practices as a litigation lawyer focusing mainly in commercial, labor, administrative, civil and criminal cases.

歐頌成 Jose Costa Alvares

Jose provides general advice on Macau law, namely advising and acting for given clients in all their legal matters in this jurisdiction. He firmly believes that clients’ satisfaction is maximized by providing prompt and objective advice focusing on the solution rather than the problem.
During his career, Jose has acted for some of global corporations as well as prominent local companies in complex and simple transactions alike in Macau, including in the retail, transportation, gaming, financial and property sectors, among others, granting him a well-rounded experience in dealing with a diverse range of matters.
In terms of litigation experience, he participated in numerous civil disputes, including injunction proceedings (such as asset seizures and enforcement of contractual obligations), civil liability claims, debt collections, litigious divorces, probates, among others.
Jose was trained and subsequently worked at one the most prestigious law offices in Macau, from which he resigned to embrace this new project. Previously, he interned at other institutions including Deutsche Bank, Linklaters, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and law firms based in Portugal.
Registered lawyer with the Macau Lawyers’ Association (AAM) and a member of its Training and Internship Committee. He is also a member of the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute (HKSI) and Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC).
On the hobby side, Jose plays in the second division of the Macau Football Association, is an amateur photographer and a traveler. His utmost passion remains hiking and he can often be found trail running in Hong Kong, namely at his zen place, the Ma On Shan Country Park.
Jose is considerably community involved, having been a columnist or freelance writer for local and regional newspapers (in English, Portuguese and occasionally in Chinese), collaborates with charities and participates (often as a speaker) in law related conferences.
